Summer Wedding at ISU- Pollen And Pastry Wedding

We believe that weddings should be intentional and meaningful, down to even the smallest of details. So you can bet it melted our hearts when we saw Nichole and Brent’s wedding photos on the 50 yard line at ISU’s Hancock Stadium…the very place they became engaged.

This July wedding was full of natural beauty and highlighted all of our very favorite things of summer: eucalyptus, fresh white flowers, and gorgeous nature backdrops.

Gotta love these textured greenery bouquets and men with style!

Nichole and Brent chose centerpieces that were simple in texture and color, yet elegant in design. Blush, crisp whites, and natural greenery kept things lighthearted and fun, while touches of gold spruced up the place settings and finished things off with a bit of romance.

The whole Pollen & Pastry team extends a big “Congratulations!” to these ISU lovebirds. Thanks you for choosing us to play such a special role in one of the most important days of your lives!

Rustic and Romantic July Wedding- Pollen & Pastry Wedding

We love a sappy romance and Sabin and Tyler’s love story is no exception. These two high school sweethearts planned their wedding for the most gorgeous July day and we were lucky enough to design their personal flowers for them and their wedding party.

Rustic and romantic was Sabin’s vision, which paired perfectly with her choice of white orchids, mauve garden roses, and babies breath flowers. We added in a touch of silver dollar eucalyptus for that effortlessly rustic look and tied it all together with some trailing ribbons in shades of mauve and blush.

We love seeing our brides and their crews having a blast! Thank you Sabin and Tyler for the opportunity to be a part of your wedding day!

Romantic Wedding at Illinois Wesleyan - Pollen and Pastry Wedding

Another beautiful wedding is in the books! Elise and Caleb have such a fun surprise proposal story, so it was only fitting that they wanted their wedding to feel “romantic and fun” just as well.

For that playful texture, we added bits of silver dollar and gunni eucalyptus into Elise’s bouquet and tossed in some lovely lavender-colored roses for a subtle pop of color. We just love how this hand-tied look flows with the soft, delicateness of her veil.

Bud vases are such a great decor strategy when it comes to keeping things classic without being too extravagant. But we definitely don’t hold back on flavor- take these raspberry lemonade cupcakes for example!

Enchanted Wedding Wonderland at Vrooman Mansion- Pollen & Pastry Wedding

This enchanting, woodland wedding is giving us ALL the creative feels of inspiration! Peeping through these doors is like getting a glimpse inside Narnia itself…

Wedding Ceremony Doors
Wedding Ceremony Wreath

We can’t believe how McKenzie and Mark transformed the backyard of Vrooman Mansion into a whimsical wonderland for their wedding!

We got to adorn these handmade wooden doors with fern and eucalyptus wreaths and lots of organically textured greens to create an organic, wild look. The little details that McKenzie added as her table numbers were the perfect touch next to our cake stand rentals.

We had the MOST fun getting to utilize wild ferns to create these Alice-in-Wonderland-esque centerpieces! The central part of every good wedding is a good piece of cake- so it didn’t take any begging to get us to make that the focal point of the tablescapes.

McKenzie and Mark… thank you for trusting us to execute such a beautiful wedding vision and for allowing us to be a part of your special day. Our Pollen & Pastry team wish you a fun-filled and adventurous life together!

Vintage, Elegant Wedding at Vrooman Mansion- Pollen & Pastry Wedding

Here at Pollen & Pastry, we’re suckers for a good love story! Matthew and Celene had been together for about 4 years, most of which was spent apart, while Matthew was on active duty. During a leave, he surprised Celene with a candlelit dinner, roses, and by asking her to spend the rest of her life by his side. Boy, are we glad she said yes, because the rest is history!

How stunning of a bride is Celene?! We love how well this romantic, moody bouquet paired with Celene’s vintage lace gown and sophisticated updo. The Vrooman Mansion was the perfect venue for this classic pair’s nuptiuals.

We also got to design this semi-naked, tiered cake and topped it off with deep wine and blush blooms to match.

We will never get over the breathtaking, timeless elegance of Matthew and Celene’s wedding.

It was our delight to serve as your wedding florist/baker and Matthew, we thank you for your service.

Wishing these two a very happy marriage, indeed!

An Intimate Campground Wedding in the Woods- Pollen & Pastry, Chillicothe, IL

When one of your own graces the altar, the bouquets and the backdrops somehow get even sweeter. Our precious intern, Rachel, allowed us to tap into our sweet and whimsical side with her vision of free-flowing greens and neutral color palette. Soft touches and unpredictable wildflowers were the perfect details to this Boy Scout Campground-turned wedding venue.

Our advice to every bride is to choose flowers and colors that reflect who they are - after all, your bouquet will take on it’s personality too. We like to think we raised up our girl right because everything about this wedding is so uniquely HER. Simple, understated beauty at it’s finest.

Friends and family gathered under the pines to witness Rachel and Ethan say “I do”. It was only fitting that the very dried bits of flowers that Rachel herself helped scavenge from the floor of our studio, made its way back into her wedding as confetti.

Messy but not totally undone wildflowers and a sweetly feminine color palette graced Rachel’s bouquet. We especially love how Wright Photographs captured these photos- the most natural of moments of a bride tucking a strand of hair while ribbon blows in the wind.

Oh- and we can’t forget the grooms! Exposed boutonniere ends are IN and we are HERE FOR IT.

Is this bridal party what dreams are made of OR WHAT?! Those mis-matched dresses came together so perfectly and our wildflower bridesmaid bouquets really pulled it all together. Still swooning over here, to be honest.

Rachel and Ethan wanted to emphasize the natural beauty all around them, so the tablescapes and decor were kept left minimal and spruced up with subtle touches of texture. Our current favorite trick is to utilize greens like this smilax vine to create a full, yet wild look that can be used in place of centerpieces or as final touches on signage.

When it comes to your wedding flowers, it’s amazing what a little attention to detail, utilizing the right textures, and having the right color palette can do to make an impact in your venue and a small dent in your budget.

Rachel and Ethan, congratulations on your marriage and may there be more blessings than you can count headed your way. It was the best day for the world’s greatest intern- you for being such a valuable part of our Pollen & Pastry team. We love you!

Marsala Fall Wedding at The Marriot- Pollen and Pastry Bloomington-Normal Wedding

We are suckers for any wedding that features deep, rich hues of burgundy and marsala and our bride, Hilary, absolutely hit the color combo jackpot! With pops of gold and blush mixed in, this event was one for the books.

Hilary wanted her flowers to be “fun, personal, and unique” and we think that bouquet says it all!

And as if we weren’t already swooning, these delicate detail shots of the groom’s boutonniere and the flower girl’s crown definitely did us in. I mean… look at how precious those escort card scrolls are!

If you’re going to do an altar piece, it better make a statement! We had so much fun playing with branches and handfuls of different textures to make those blush garden roses and marsala carnations pop even more. These arrangements were set on top of our gold vase rentals to make this ceremony backdrop instantly picture-perfect!

Don’t forget dessert! What is a wedding without a delicious, gold-dusted cake to match each table’s compote centerpieces?

Hilary’s bridesmaids were decked out in the most beautiful marsala dresses, each holding their own simplified version of the bride’s bouquet.

What a joy it was to create some floral specialties for Hilary and Grant’s wedding day. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Wahlheim!

Blue and White Spring Wedding Florals: Campus, IL

The three words Erin used to describe the vision for her wedding were rustic, romantic, and bright. I think the flowers we chose for her May wedding certainly achieved that! Paired with Dani Lang's gorgeous photography, this simple spring wedding was a treat last year! Dusty blues were a popular choice in 2017 and I think that will continue for 2018.

Moody Spring Wedding Flowers

Erin's bouquet was made up of bright white roses, stock, and ranunculus with light blue delphinium for that pop of color. Silver dollar eucalyptus and Italian ruscus help soften the look.

Blush and Marsala Fall Wedding- Bloomington, IL Florist and Baker

Today I am pleased to introduce you to the third and final Becker sister to get married! Luckily for me, they still have a younger brother to get married, because this family is so sweet and I absolutely love working with them! Being able to play a small part in these special family moments is one of the many reasons I absolutely love my job.

Cassie and Cory's October wedding was a beautiful day full of special details and plenty of greenery to go around. Rachael Schirano Photography got some gorgeous shots that I couldn't wait to share!

Cassie's bouquet was full of gorgeous shades of white and ivory garden roses, hydrangeas, spray roses, scabiosa, and stock with pops of silver from silver brunia and several types of eucalyptus foliages. The burgundy dahlias, which were grown in our garden, added depth to the bouquet while bringing in the marsala accent color.

And I love the different shades that the bridesmaid's chose for their dresses that go with the neutral bridesmaid's dresses so nicely!

Cassie loved the look of simple greenery at her reception space so we accented most of the tables with simple greenery garlands and a ton of candlelight. Such a romantic setting!

Can't go wrong with a naked cake!

And S'mores cupcakes, perfect for a fall wedding!

Stay tuned for a flashback blog post featuring all three of the lovely Becker sisters and the special piece of jewelry that the all donned on their big day!

Colorful Summer Wedding at Eastland Suites- Bloomington, IL Florist

When Mary told me her bright wedding color scheme during our consultation, I couldn't have been happier! You see, 2016 was unofficially the year of the blush for many of our brides. Now blush is absolutely beautiful and romantic and lovely, but I was dying for some color! Hence the gorgeousness that ensued for Mary and Brian's August wedding at Eastland Suites here in Bloomington.

To top it all off Stephanie Bartman captured it beautifully! Go check her out!

Mary's bouquet was made up of brightly colored stock, pincushion protea, roses, dahlias, ranunculus, amaranth, hypericum, and succulents! All excellent summer bouquet options.

The boutonnieres were made of mini succulents and yellow billy balls with eucalyptus foliage and wrapped in twine.

The oh so wonderful Becker sisters. Stay tuned for Cassie's wedding on the blog soon and a special post featuring all three of their weddings!

Mary's centerpieces were simple blue mason jars filled with more colorful florals.

Here's to more colorful weddings in 2017!

Blush and Burgundy Summer Wedding- Champaign, IL Wedding Florist

This wedding from last summer is giving me all the heart eyes!!! I just got my hands on these gorgeous photos by Stephanie Bartman Photography and I couldn't wait to share them!

Elise was another of those absolutely sweet brides that was referred to my through a friend and being that we were located a distance apart at the time, we planned all the florals over the phone! The result was absolutely gorgeous and I was so glad to play a small part in her big day!
